Leaking windows can be a frustration with your Newport. On mine, the aft windows on each side (I have the three window model) are the most troublesome. I can control it for a while by removing the window completely, genereously filling in with caulking, then putting the window back in. I also found that I had to caulk between the plexiglass and the window frame. Liquid caulk is the only stuff able to fill that thin of a crack. The permanent fix seems to be replacing the windows with thru-bolted plexiglass.
One method (Hot Chocolate and Harry) installs a single long plexiglass piece that covers all the windows. The Olivers caution that then ,boat and plexiglass have different coefficients of expansion which can be compensated for by making the holes away from the center a little larger than the thrubolts.
If you want to preserve the original profile, you can do like Lazy Lion and replace each window with a separate piece of plexiglass cut to proper shape. In Lazy Lions case, the outside border of the window was edged with a white plexiglass material that looks better than the factory frame and hides the screw heads.
TAP PLASTICS can cut plastic to your templates. Total cost can be several hundred dollars. For details, give one of the above boatowners a call for details.

Does anyone have information regarding replacement of the bronze colored acrylic (see-thru) salon hatch cover immediately behind the mast? Managed to split ours this summer on a bad jibe. jsadvert@xs-ive.com
