If your question is regarding an in-hull transducer which shoots through the fiberglass skin, then maybe I can help. I installed a Lowrance depthsounder with a transducer that was designed to mount inside the hull. I had also previously mounted a transducer designed to be in contact with the water inside another earlier boat and it worked well in both instances. On my N 30- III, I mounted the transducer in an epoxy bed directly to the inside of the skin of the boat. The location is under the bottom drawer of the seat for the nav table. Mix up a good thick batch of epoxy and feel free to use a gob of filler fibers to thicken it up to a thick chicken gravy consistency. Put a good sized blob of the mixture on the previously cleaned hull ( I even used an abrasive bit in a drill to abrade the hull surface where the epoxy wopuld be placed) After placing the blob of epoxy onto thean hull, then slide the Transducer across the glob of epoxy so that no air bubbles can mar the transducer to epoxy interface. Prop or otherwide secure the transducer in place so that it cannot move while the epoxy is still soft. Then go away for a day or so. When you come back, the epoxy will have hardened and the transducer will be secured. Hook up the transducer wire to your instrument head or instrument box, turn it on and marvel at your cleverness. The fiberglqass hull is acoustically invisible to the sonar pulses. You must avoid any air bubbles between the transducer and epoxy, any air bubbles in the hull laminate or any delaminated areas in the hull structure. The transducer needs solid sound fiberglass to shoot through. Do not mount the transducer in a bed of caulking compound. The compound is too rubbery and resilient and absorbs the sound energy rather than pass it through to the solid fiberglass.
PS. My sounder is supposed to reach 999 feet but even on the hardest bottom, it craps out at about 750 feet. Mounting inside the hull might cost you some range.
