I think 81 was the first of the Phase III. The hull number of my 82 Phase III is 1106. There is, on this website, a message from Hull No 1044 listing their 1981 boat as a Phase III. I've sailed on a 1980 Phase II, so the II/III change must have occured in the 81 model year
