I have a 73 N30 Mark II and recently trailered it and currently have it on my trailer for the winter for refitting.

My trailer is a tandom axle 12,000 gvw with a keel support and 9 adjustable pads. Most of the wieght is on the keel with the pads providing support. The boat stood about 14 feet high on the trailer with the mast on top.

The mast was stepped with a boom crane. They strapped the mast at the spreaders but the mast but it turned out to be heavier above the strap. So if you use a strap keep ahold of the butt end of the mast as it will rotate.

Hope this will help. We used a Ford powerstroke diesel PU to tow it and had no problems.
